Late September can still bring occasional showers to Ziro Valley. Our campsite is located on higher ground, preventing waterlogging and muddy conditions even after rain, so you can enjoy a cleaner and more comfortable camping experience.

Our campsite is located just 1 kilometre from the Ziro Music Festival Grounds and is easily accessible by road. You can also enjoy a scenic walk through beautiful pine forests and kiwi orchards on your way to the festival.

Although Ziro Valley is located in the remote hills of Arunachal Pradesh, reaching the Ziro Music Festival is easier than many travellers expect. Depending on where you're travelling from, you can reach Ziro by air, rail or road. If you book our Guided Tour or Complete Package, simply reach Guwahati and we'll take care of the rest.

✈️ By Air

Ziro Airport has limited flight connectivity and currently serves only a few regional flights, making it unsuitable for most travellers attending the festival. The nearest major airports are Hollongi Airport (Itanagar), Dibrugarh Airport and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (Guwahati). Among these, Guwahati Airport is the most popular choice due to its excellent connectivity with major cities across India.

🚆 By Train

The nearest railway station is Naharlagun Railway Station, around 30 km from Itanagar. However, our group tours begin from Guwahati, where participants board the overnight train together before continuing the scenic road journey to Ziro.

🚐 By Road

Ziro is well connected to Itanagar and nearby towns by road. Visitors can hire private taxis or shared cabs to reach the festival. Travellers booking our Guided Tour or Complete Package don't have to worry about transportation, as all road transfers between the railway station and Ziro are included.

Simply reach Guwahati on the tour start date, and we'll take care of the rest. From train travel and road transfers to permits, camping and on-ground coordination, everything is organised so you can focus on enjoying the Ziro Music Festival.

An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for all Indian citizens visiting Arunachal Pradesh, including those attending the Ziro Music Festival. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) instead.

The ILP is issued by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and must be obtained before entering the state. Travellers should carry a valid government-issued photo ID along with their permit throughout the journey.

Travellers booking our Guided Tour or Complete Package don't have to worry about the paperwork. We assist you with the ILP application process, making your journey to the Ziro Music Festival smooth and hassle-free.

If you're booking only our Festival Camping Package, you'll need to arrange your own ILP before arriving in Ziro.

Foreign nationals visiting the festival must obtain a Protected Area Permit (PAP) instead of an ILP. We can assist with the application process; however, the permit fee and any associated government charges are payable separately.

The Ziro Music Festival takes place every September, when the monsoon begins to retreat and Ziro Valley is at its most scenic. Expect lush green landscapes, pleasant daytime temperatures and cool evenings—perfect for camping and enjoying live music in the outdoors.

🌤️ Weather During the Festival

Daytime temperatures generally range between 18°C and 25°C, making it comfortable to explore the festival grounds and nearby Apatani villages. Evenings and early mornings can be chilly, with temperatures dropping to around 10°C to 15°C, so carrying warm clothing is recommended.

Although late September marks the end of the monsoon season, occasional showers are still possible. A lightweight rain jacket or poncho will help you stay comfortable while enjoying the outdoor performances.

This allows us to secure accommodation in advance, coordinate transportation efficiently and provide a seamless experience for all our travellers.

🪪 Carry Valid ID Proof

Please carry a valid government-issued photo ID throughout the trip. Indian citizens will also need an Inner Line Permit (ILP), while foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP).

🎒 Travel Light

As you'll be staying at a festival campsite, we recommend travelling with a backpack or duffel bag instead of large suitcases for greater convenience.
