Itinerary for Anini & Dong Valley Tour
Day 1: Welcome to Roing, Arunachal Pradesh
First day of the trip is always exciting. So as soon as you arrive at Dibrugarh (which has an airport, well connected by rail and bus from Guwahati), we will receive you and start the drive to Roing. The journey gets exciting very quickly as you will pass through the longest bridge in India, Dhola Sadiya Bridge or Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu which is 9.2 km long and built over River Brahmaputra. Check-in to a hotel by afternoon. In the evening, go for a drive to Dambuk, one of the serene places by the river side. Enjoy the evening sun while driving over Dibang River Bridge, which is one of the 6+ kms long bridges in the region.
Day 2: Long Drive to the headquarters of Dibang, Anini
The sun rises early here, and so, we should rise early too :) Shortly after you start, you will reach the highest pass of the region, Mayodia Pass at 8400 ft above sea level. Stop for snacks there and few pictures. Later we continue our drive to Anini. Check in to our homestay and spend the evening by hearing the exciting local stories from the hosts.
Day 3: Drive to Dree / Dri Valley
The beauty of Dree / Dri Valley will surprise you. The guide will take you to several view points before taking you to Chigu, a beautiful point inside Dibang Wildlife sanctuary. Later go for a small hike to get to the base of a beautiful waterfall. After an exciting morning, drive to Acheso Dree Afra Camp. Have your lunch & spend some quality time by the Dri river side.
Day 4: Mipi Valley Excursion
After breakfast, drive to Mipi, a beautiful destination near Anini. Hike in the Grass land of Emuli. Enjoy the Mipi Valley & Village. Back to Anini for night stay
Day 5: Back to Roing
It is now time to head back to Roing to start another adventure, explore the easternmost part of India!. Start the day early to drive all the way back to Roing. Check-in to a hotel and relax.
Day 6: Drive to Wakro
Drive through the eastern plains of Arunachal to reach the riverside of Lohit River. Stay at a homestay in Wakro
Day 7: Drive to Walong via Parashuram Kund
Start your day early to visit Parashuram Kund. This picturesque small town has huge religious significance, and is also stunningly beautiful. The colors of Lohit River and surrounding mountains is a sight to remember!
Later, we drive to Walong. Most part of this route is next to Lohit River, and you can take as many stops to take the pictures of this scenic route. Walong is the first small village of Eastern part of India from where you can see China with naked eye. Later, you checkin to a homestay and relax
Day 8: Explore the easternmost part of India
We start our day by visiting a 1962 War Memorial, which is built at a place where Chinese army had intruded Indian land, but was bravely stopped by Indian Army during the 1962 war. After paying respects, we will visit Tilam Hot Springs. Later we drive to Kaho, which is the first Indian village, right next to the border of China. Explore the town and get a glimpse of China from different parts of the village. Later, drive to Kibithu, another border village. View the water of Lohit River arriving fresh from China. After an exciting day, it's time to drive back to homestay and relax.
Day 9: Witness first rays of sun on India and drive back to Wakro
Wake up midnight and go for a trek (of 2 hours) via the Dong Hanging Bridge. We start our 2-2.5 hour trek from Dong at 2 am, and reach the peak by 4 am. This steep trekking trail can become tiring, take your time but reach the peak before the sunrise. Once you are on the top, set up a bonfire to keep yourself warm until you wait for those first rays of sun. While the peak is surrounded by higher mountains on all sides, you can view the first rays of sun on Indian soil, falling on a mountain exactly opposite of you. If you visit during winters, you can see the snow capped mountains shining in golden colour. As the sun raises slowly, you can trek further to neighbouring hills. Later, trek back to homestay for heavy breakfast. Freshen up, pack your bags and we now drive back all the way to Wakro. Check-in to a homestay.
Day 10: Dibrugarh Drop
We are sure you must be both excited and exhaused after exploring the untouched beauty for last 10 days. We will checkout today, and drive you back to airport or railway station. Depending on your return flight / train timings, we take a stop at Namsai to visit Golden Pagoda, which is the largest Buddhist monastery in the region.
With that, it is time to say good bye to the most beautiful part of India that is waiting to be explored! Be happy that you are one of the first few to do this!

Anini and Dong Valley Tour is a completely offbeat tour. These are not regular tourist destinations. Hence you may not get all the comforts that you are typically used to at other tourist locations
There are no hotels in Anini or Dong. Only homestays are available and they will be basic but will be neat and clean. There are very minimal homestays, and even lesser good ones. So there is not much of a choice for better homestays. However, you will be amazed by the friendly nature of the hosts.
Anini will take 2 days to reach from Dibrugarh. You need a transit stop at Roing (for both onward and return). You can't skip it.
Dong Valley is even more offbeat, and you will get to see raw beauty here.
You will be out of mobile network for most part of this tour. Please inform your loved ones that you are about to explore the most beautiful part of India, and hence you will not be reachable for few days!
