Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar is a small coastal town that is popular for its massive statue of Lord Shiva located right next to the Arabian Sea. The huge statue is 123 feet tall, and is also the second largest in India. The statue is also located on the top of a hill cliff next to the sea, and hence can be seen from a very far distance. Adding to the beauty is a tall 20 floor Raja Gopuram of the temple. You can go to the top of the Gopuram, and get an aerial view of the statue with the sea in the background.

Maravanthe

Karnataka has one of the finest coastal belt. Maravanthe is one of those natural beauties where you can witness a national highway passing through a picturesque beauty. You can see River Souparnika flowing on one side, and the beautiful beach on the other side! This amazing stretch lasts for 500 meters before the river moves away from sea. It is interesting to know that a river that was just a few meters away from the sea but joins the Arabian Sea after 12 kilometers!
