Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar is a small coastal town that is popular for its massive statue of Lord Shiva located right next to the Arabian Sea. The huge statue is 123 feet tall, and is the second largest in India. The statue is also located on the top of a hill cliff next to the sea, and hence can be seen from a very far distance. Adding to the beauty is a tall 20 floor Raja Gopuram of the temple. You can go to the top of the Gopuram, and get an aerial view of the statue with the sea in the background.

Maravanthe

Karnataka has one of the finest coastal belt. Maravanthe is one of those natural beauties where you can witness a national highway passing through a picturesque beauty. You can see River Souparnika flowing on one side, and the beautiful beach on the other side! This amazing stretch lasts for 500 meters before the river moves away from sea. It is interesting to know that a river that was just a few meters away from the sea, and separated by road joins the Arabian Sea after 12 kilometers!

Udupi

Jog Falls

Jog Falls is the second largest plunge waterfalls in India. The amazing 830 feet falls is formed on River Sharavathi, and is in its best form during monsoons. The falls actually have four trajectories, each forming and adding its own beauty to the falls. The astonishing view from the viewpoint right opposite to all the trajectories is a sight to be remembered. You can even get down to the bottom of the falls through well laid stairs to get a glimpse from the bottom of the falls.
