Day 2: Beyt Dwarka - Nageshwar Jyothirling Day Tour
Today, we will go to various places of interest in Dwarka. We will start our day by visiting Rukmini Temple. Later, we will visit Nageshwar Jyothirling temple. This is believed to be one of the 12 Jyothirling temples in India, however, some say it is not. After visiting the temple, we will go to Gopi Talav. Though this looks like a small pond, it has huge mythological significance. This is believed to be the meeting point of Lord Krishna and the Gopikas. Later, we will drive to Beyt Dwarka. The temple at Beyt Dwarka is one of the Char Dhams of India (others being at Badrinath, Jagannath Puri and Rameshwaram). After spending enough time at Beyt Dwarka, we will drive to our hotel in Dwarka.
Day 3: Dwarka - Porbandar - Somnath
After breakfast, checkout of hotel. Start driving towards Porbandar.
Porbandar is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. You can take a break here to visit Gandhi Mahal and the nearby Sudama Temple (only temple dedicated to Sudama).
Later drive to Somnath. Checkin to a hotel. In the evening, visit Somnath Temple. After darshan, wait for the light and sound show, that introduces the rich history of the temple. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4: Somnath - Diu
Post breakfast, checkout of hotel. Start the day by visiting some places of interest in Somnath like Triveni Sangam, Pandav Gufa etc. Later, we will drive to Diu Island.
Diu is a small island and is part of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
Reach Diu be early evening, and checkin to a hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at Nagoa Beach and enjoy the water sports and other activities near the beach.
Day 5: Diu Sightseeing
We will explore the island of Diu today. Though the island is small, there are a lot of places to visit. We will start with a visit to Diu Fort, then go to the spectacular Naida Caves, St Paul Church, INS Khukri Memorial, Diu Museum, and Dinosaur Park. We will also visit Ghoghla Beach (Blue Flag Beach) and Chakrathirth Beach. After an activity filled day, we will go back to hotel and relax.

Temple and Cultural Experiences in Saurashtra
Saurashtra is home to several culturally and spiritually important towns, each reflecting the region's historical and religious significance. The tour includes visits to key temple destinations, providing insight into local traditions and cultural practices. These experiences form the foundation of the Saurashtra journey.
Gir Region and Wildlife Landscape
The Gir region is known for its forested terrain and natural environment. While wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions, the area offers a distinctive landscape that contrasts with temple towns and coastal regions. Visits to this region add a nature-focused element to the itinerary without shifting the tour's primary focus to wildlife safaris.
Coastal Experience in Diu
Diu provides a relaxed coastal experience with a slower pace compared to inland destinations. Time spent in Diu allows travelers to unwind and enjoy the seaside environment, adding balance to the cultural and inland portions of the tour. The coastal setting offers a refreshing change in scenery.
How the Saurashtra Tour Differs from a Temple-Only Itinerary
Unlike a temple-only itinerary, the Saurashtra tour includes natural and coastal elements alongside spiritual destinations. This broader approach appeals to travelers who want variety within a single journey. The inclusion of Gir and Diu transforms the tour into a regional exploration rather than a purely religious circuit.
Who Should Choose the Saurashtra Tour
The Saurashtra tour is suitable for travelers with additional time who want to experience multiple aspects of Gujarat in one trip. It appeals to those interested in culture, nature and coastal environments, as well as travelers seeking a more comprehensive regional itinerary.
Can this Saurashtra tour be started from Ahmedabad?
Yes, the Saurashtra tour covering Diu, Gir, Somnath, and Dwarka can be started from Ahmedabad, and many travellers prefer this because Ahmedabad is one of the best-connected cities in India by flights and trains.
However, for a smoother and more relaxed journey, starting the tour from Rajkot is strongly recommended. Rajkot sits at the heart of the Saurashtra region, which means shorter driving distances, less time on the road, and more time spent actually exploring destinations like Gir, Somnath, Dwarka, and Diu.
When the tour starts from Ahmedabad, the itinerary usually needs to be extended by around two extra days to cover the same places comfortably. This is due to the longer entry and exit drives into the Saurashtra circuit from Ahmedabad.
Our recommendation is to start this tour from Rajkot. If Ahmedabad is your arrival point, we can customise the itinerary to include the additional travel days while keeping the experience relaxed and well-paced
If you're unsure which starting city works best for your travel dates, budget, or flight options, feel free to reach out — we'll help you plan the most efficient route for your Saurashtra tour.
Can Girnar be added to the Saurashtra tour with Gir and Diu?
Yes, Girnar can be added to the Saurashtra tour covering Gir and Diu, and it makes a rewarding addition for travellers interested in spiritual sites and scenic landscapes. Located near Junagadh, Girnar is known for its ancient temples and commanding views of the surrounding region.
To include Girnar at a comfortable pace, the tour typically needs to be extended by one additional day. This ensures there is enough time to visit Girnar without rushing key experiences such as the Gir jungle safari or the coastal stay in Diu.
Adding Girnar enhances the overall Saurashtra journey while keeping the itinerary well balanced. If you'd like to include Girnar in your Saurashtra tour with Gir and Diu, we can customise the route, overnight stays, and travel flow to suit your schedule and interests.
Best Time to Take the Saurashtra Tour
