Can the Dwarka Somnath tour be started from Ahmedabad?

Yes, the Dwarka Somnath tour can be started from Ahmedabad, and many travellers choose this option because Ahmedabad offers excellent flight and train connectivity from across the country.

However, for a more comfortable and time-efficient journey, starting the tour from Rajkot is generally the better choice. Rajkot is much closer to Dwarka and Somnath, which means shorter travel distances, fewer long driving days, and a more relaxed temple-focused itinerary.

When the tour starts from Ahmedabad, it usually requires one to two additional days to cover Dwarka and Somnath comfortably, due to the longer road journeys involved. While this option works well for travellers arriving in Ahmedabad, it does add extra travel time to the overall trip.

Our recommendation is to start from Rajkot if you want a shorter, smoother Dwarka - Somnath pilgrimage

If you're arriving in Ahmedabad but would like to minimise travel fatigue, we can help customise the Dwarka Somnath tour — including transfers, pacing, and temple visit timings — to suit your plans.

Can Girnar be added to the Dwarka Somnath tour?

Yes, Girnar can be added to the Dwarka Somnath tour, and it is a meaningful addition for travellers interested in pilgrimage, history, and panoramic hilltop views. Girnar, located near Junagadh, is home to ancient temples and is especially significant for devotees.

To include Girnar comfortably in the itinerary, the tour needs to be extended by one additional day. This allows enough time for the Girnar temple visit — whether by ropeway or on foot — without rushing the core experiences at Dwarka and Somnath.

Adding Girnar makes the journey more enriching while keeping travel days well balanced. If you're planning to include Girnar in your Dwarka Somnath tour, we can help customise the route, overnight stays, and temple visit timings based on your preferences.
