Itinerary of Nagaland Adventurous Tour
Day 1: Guwahati / Dibrugarh – Dimapur – Kohima
We start our day from Guwahati or Dibrugarh and take a beautiful train journey to Dimapur. On arrival at Dimapur, our representative will pick you up from railway station (or airport if you are joining directly), and transfer you to Kohima, the hill-town capital of Nagaland. Check-in to hotel/homestay and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Kohima Sightseeing
No tour to Nagaland is complete without going for a village tour. The stories of Nagaland can be better heard from these iconic villages and the locals. We start our day by visiting the historic village of Khonoma. After visiting some of the interesting places in Khonoma, and going through the scenic rice fields, we will go back to Kohima to visit World War II memorial, state museum and a Cathedral.
Day 3: Kohima – Viswema – Dzukou Valley
Today, we will start to a village called Viswema, and then drive along a muddy patch to reach the starting point of the trek to Dzukou Valley. The initial part of the trek is quite steep, and takes anywhere between 1-2 hours to reach the peak. We will have packed lunch at the peak, and then trek 5-6 km to reach canteen / dormitory. After admiring the beauty of the valley, we retire early for the day, as we have a long day tomorrow.
Day 4: Dzukou Valley – Kohima
We start our day early and trek to Dzukou Valley. Spend enough time at the valley before coming back to the dormitory. After exciting visit to Dzukou, we start our trek back. Later in the day, we drive back to Kohima. Check-in to hotel/homestay and relax.
Day 5: Kohima – Dimapur – Guwahati / Dibrugarh
Today is our last day of the trip. We will drop you back to Dimapur railway station (or airport), and you can continue your onward journey to Guwahati / Dibrugarh. This is the end of Nagaland Group / Backpacking Tour.
