Itinerary

Day 1: Dibrugarh – Pasighat – Aalo/Along (260 km – 8 hours)

The first day of any trip is always exciting. We use this energy to pass through some of the awesome plains of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. We will pick you up from Dibrugarh, and drive to Aalo/Along via Pasighat. It is a long journey, and the quality of the road would make it longer. At the end, it is the first and mandatory step to be taken to visit the paradise on earth!

Day 2: Aalo / Along – Siko Dido Waterfalls – Mechuka (190 km – 8 hours)

Another long drive today. Some parts of the road are under construction, and hence may be closed for few hours. So we start early to cover this long distance. On the way, we will visit Siko Dido Waterfalls, one of the largest waterfalls in the region. We then continue our journey to reach Mechuka by evening. Check in to a homestay and relax. Meet the hosts and know all of the exciting things about Mechuka from them.

Day 3: Mechuka La Trek (12 km 5-6 hours)

Today, a guide will take you to Mechuka La, a small hill from where you can get a panoramic glimpse of the whole town. If you visit during winters, you will have to trek through the snow! The trek to Mechuka La is exciting and peaceful at the same time. As the region has very few visitors, don’t be surprised if you are the only ones going for a trek. Occasionally, you will meet horses, Mithuns (Himalayan Gaur) and a lot of leeches during monsoon! End the picturesque trek with packed lunch, and head back to homestay.

Day 4: Mechuka / Menchuka Sightseeting (7 hours)

There are a lot of places to cover today. We start by paying a visit to Old Monastery (a 400 year old monastery on a scenic hilltop), Thangkor La Viewpoint, Sri Guru Nanak Ji Mediation Point, Gurudwara, Hanuman Temple (a temple built in front of a natural carving that resembles the face of Lord Hanuman on a mountain). You can also visit neighbouring village of Dorjeeling, which is stunningly beautiful village. Spend some time talking to locals, and viewing their ancient traditions houses. If time permits, we will also visit the new Monastery to get another glimpse of our favourite town.

If you are planning for an extra day, you can go for some adventure activities like zip lining, rafting, ATV riding etc. You are also not far away from India – China border. If you have an extra day, you can pay a visit to the border, if we get the permit. Let us know while booking if any of these interests you.

Day 5: Mechuka – Aalo / Along (190 km – 8 hours)

After visiting such awesome places, it is time to head back. Though the beautiful mountains and valleys keep calling you back, we start our journey back to Aalo. We will reach Aalo late in the evening. Check in to hotel and relax.

Day 6: Aalo – Pasighat – Dibrugarh (260 km – 8 hours)

Today is the last day of the tour. We start from Aalo to drop you back to Dibrugarh (hotel/airport/railway station). That ends the Mechuka Menchuka Tour Package.
