Itinerary of Kedarkantha Trek
DAY 0: Dehradun
- Reach Dehradun from your city
- No meal included
DAY 1: Dehradun – Sankri: 210 km (8-9 hr)
- Pickup from Dehradun airport or railway station or designated point in the city at 9 AM
- Drive to Sankri which is located at an altitude of 6450 ft / 1920 m above sea level
- Overnight stay at homestay/guesthouse
- Dinner included (Breakfast and lunch at own cost)
DAY 2: Trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab
- Trek of 5 km starts from Sankri today
- Juda Ka Talab is at an altitude of 2800m / 9200 ft above sea level
- The distance is usually covered in 4-5 hours
- Overnight stay at a camp nearby
- All meals included
DAY 3: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp
- This trek of 3.5 km is usually covered in 2-3 hours
- The base camp is located at an altitude of 3200m / 10200 ft above sea level
- Overnight stay in a camp
- All meals included
DAY 4: Base Camp – Kedarkantha Summit – Hargaon Camp
- Trek from the base camp to summit (3800m / 12500 ft)
- Witness awesome views of great Himalayan ranges
- Spend some quality time at the peak
- Start your descend, and trek towards Hargaon Camp (2700 m / 8900 ft)
- Total trek distance is 9 km, 4-5 hours
- Overnight stay at camp
- All meals included
DAY 5: Hargaon Camp – Sankri
- Trek of 5.5 km (descend) takes 4-5 hours
- Overnight stay at homestay / guesthouse
- All meals included
DAY 6: Sankri – Dehradun
- Drive back to Dehradun with some awesome memories
- The distance of 210 km is covered in 8-9 hours
- Catch late night flight / train / bus back to your destination
- Breakfast included

- Not all meals are included. Please check the itinerary above for inclusions. Any meal not mentioned in the itinerary are not included.
- Some trekking/winter gear would be provided. Others have to be rented at Sankri (extra cost).

Traveller Requirements
- While the difficulty of Kedarkantha trek is categorised as beginner, it does require basic fitness. If you are planning to do any Himalayan trek (and not just Kedarkantha), ensure you have the fitness enough to cover a distance of 5 km in 40-45 minutes on flat land.
- Actute Mountain Sickness: Read about high altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness, and be aware of the symptoms.
- While it is very rare to experience high altitude sickness during this trek, it cannot be ruled out totally. Every body reacts differently at high altitudes due to less oxygen levels, and it is difficult to guess how your body will react. If you experience any of these symptoms, do not take it lightly, and inform the trek lead immediately.
- A fitness / medical certificate from your registered doctor is required to join this trek.
- A disclaimer form needs to be signed before commencing the trek.
What to carry?
- Address Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License) – Mandatory
- A medical / fitness certificate from registered doctor / medical practitioner.
- A plastic cover to keep all these documents safe even during rains.
- Face Masks (Double masks or N95 mask), Hand Sanitizer – Mandatory
- Basic First Aid Kit (Band aid, painkiller, muscle pain spray, hydrating agents like electral, Glucon D etc)
- Medicines that may be required at high altitude treks (check the list while booking)
- Reusable Water Bottle – Avoid (buying) plastic bottles – Refill water at hotel / homestay / restaurants / streams
- Comfortable trekking shoes – Your shoes can make or break the trek. Choose comfortable trekking shoes with excellent grip
- Cap / Scarf / Sunglasses, sunscreen / skincare, socks
- Comfortable outfits for entire trip. Carry enough clothing. It can get very cold and you may need multiple layers of clothing to keep yourself warm. If you are planning for a winter trek, you may need 5-6 layers of clothing. Plan and carry accordingly.
- Cash for any expenses not mentioned in inclusions
- Backpack: A 45+ litre backpack that you can carry all your belongings. Avoid suitcases, trolley bags, rucksacks etc.
