Ziro Music Festival is an outdoor music festival celebrated in the town of Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh. This one of its kind festival is a treat to music lovers. Irrespective of what your favourite music genre is, there is something for each one of you in this festival. You can hear the music from international guests/bands to the local musicians whose music signifies the local culture and tradition.

While the music festival is celebrated in a small town of Ziro, a lot of arrangements are made to cater to each and every visitor to the festival. One of the things that the festival is famous for is that it is the most eco-friendly festivals in India! All the arrangements are done through locally sourced materials. The event has a zero plastic policy, and the visitors are expected to abide by it. (If you are a person who litters, strictly stay away from this festival.)

When is the Ziro Festival of Music held?

This year (2024), the festival is held between 26th September to 29th September.

How to reach Ziro?

The nearest commercial airport is Guwahati or Dibrugarh. You can fly to any of these locations, and reach Ziro by road. Vehicles can be hired from Guwahati, Dibrugarh or Tezpur to reach Ziro. However, due to the sudden inflow of people during the festival, there may not be enough vehicles to make last minute arrangements. If you are planning to visit, please reserve your seats early.

In fact, Ziro also has an airport and is connected from Guwahati. However, the flights are not frequent, and are subject to cancellation depending on the number of people who booked it.

Another option to reach Ziro is to opt for this tour package, where we make all the arrangements to pick you up from and drop you back to Guwahati Railway Station.

What permits are needed to attend the festival?

To enter Arunachal Pradesh, you need to apply for Inner Line Permit (ILP). You can enter the state only if your ILP application is approved. You also need to buy festival pass for each day or for all days to attend the festival. If you choose our tour, we have all of these covered. • Hygiene: The toilets are kept clean and hygienic for you to have a good time even while you are in the toilet
• Ratio: We provide separate toilets and shower room for male and female guests in a good ratio to make it more comfortable for our guests.

Camping Tents

• Camping Mat: We provide clean sleeping mats inside the tent for our guests to have a comfortable stay.
• Sleeping Bag: The sleeping bags provided are professionally cleaned and dried up before the usage by our campers
• Pillow: A proper pillow will be provided to all our guests inside the tent
• Tent: We provide a 3 person tent for 2 persons so that our guests can have enough space for themselves

Activities

• Village Tour: A guided village tour is provided to all our campers interested with no additional cost. This tour will introduce you to the Apatani culture
• Traditional Fishing: A guided fun time catching fish the traditional way from teh paddy fields with bare hands. The catcher takes it home 🙂
• Jam Sessions: All night jamming session along the bonfire with the local artists
• Hike to Pine Grove: We take you for a hike to the surrounding pine groves. The activity will take a couple of hours and will certainly give you a rustic jungle feel.

Food

• Breakfast and dinner are included in all our plans. The menu is set in a way so that both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests can enjoy scrumptious meal
• In house canteen/dining area: Our canteen will be serving you with some delicious snacks during off-meal hours. Lunch will also be available on request
• Local cuisine / breweries: We understand how important it is to try the local cuisine / brew when you are in Ziro Valley. And to make it possible for you, we will be serving different kind of wine, rice beer and local cuisine (on request)

Itinerary of Ziro Music Festival Tour

25th Sep, 2024 (Wednesday): Tour Starts from Guwahati (At 7:30 PM)

The tour begins at Guwahati Railway Station. Plan to reach the station by 7:30 pm. You will be taking an overnight journey to the Ziro’s nearest railway station.

26th Sep, 2024 (Thursday): Railway Station – Ziro

You will reach the railway station closest to Ziro very early in the morning. Our vehicle will be present there to welcome you. We will start our drive towards the beautiful town of Ziro. It will take approximately 5 hours to cover the distance. We will reach campsite at Ziro in the afternoon. It is time for relaxing in your camp before we start an exciting evening.

27th Sep, 2024 (Friday): Ziro

Witness a beautiful sunrise, much earlier than the usual times. Because, you are in the land of rising sun! The greenery of this beautiful village will surely surprise you. Spend the day by walking in this beautiful village. Later we will visit the venue of music festival. Time to hear a lot of music, have food, drinks and lots of fun!

28th Sep, 2024 (Saturday): Ziro

Today, we will begin by testing our fishing skills. And then, it is yet another day to catch up with the events of the festival. You can also have jam sessions with the local musicians at the camp site!

29th Sep, 2024 (Sunday): Ziro

Today is the last day of the festival. And as usual, the best is kept for the last. Immerse yourself with the events of the festival here,

30th Sep, 2024 (Monday): Ziro – Railway Station

After the fun filled days at Ziro, the biggest music festival in India, it is now time to bid good bye to this awesome place. We will check out after breakfast and start our journey towards the railway station. In the evening, we will catch the train for an overnight journey to Guwahati.
