Agartala Tripura Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Agartala Arrival
Arrive at Agartala airport or railway station. Meet and greet our representative and drop to hotel. If you reach early, you can attend Light & Sound show at Ujjayanta Palace.
Check in to a hotel and relax
Day 2: Unakoti Day Tour
After breakfast, start the journey to Unakoti. It will take 4-5 hours to reach this wonder.
Explore Unakoti which is famous for rock-cut sculptures from yesteryears. These sculptures are believed to be dating back to 7th or 9th century. There are statues of Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga among many more. The statues and sculptures are spread acroos many places and there will be bit of walking involved.
After exploring Unakoti, it is time to get back to hotel at Agartala.
Day 3: Neer Mahal - Sepahijala - Kamala Sagar Day Tour
Today we plan to go in another direction to explore another wonder of yesteryears. Drive to Melaghar to visit Neer Mahal. This palace is built on Rudrasagar Lake and is a great place to visit. Take a boat ride to reach the palace, explore every corner of the palace before returning to the starting point.
Later we drive to Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary & Zoo. The santuary has large numbers of leopards, deer, wild pigs, elephants and numerous species of birds.
Later drive to Kamalasagar, which is a border town located at India - Bangladesh border. Visit the temple. You can even hear the sound of trains running in Bangladesh (but you can't get closer to it as it is on the other side of the border :-) )
After an adventurous day, it is time to head back to hotel
Day 4: Chabimura and Udaipur Day Tour
Chabimura is yet another place in Tripura that will surprise you. This place is located on the banks of River Gomti, and is popurlar for rock cut sculptures. You can hire a boat to explore the ancient carvings on huge rocks. These carvings are believed to be from 15th or 16th Century. The massive carving of Mahisasurmardini is a sight that can stun you!
Later, we drive to Udaipur. Yes, Udaipur is also a town in Tripura, and is popular as temple town. It has few old architectural temples, and the most popular one is the Tripurasundari Temple, which is also a Shaktipeeth Temple. The lake in front of the Tripurasundari Temple is also a soothing place to spend some time at.
In the evening, we return to hotel at Agartala
Day 5: Agartala Departure
If you choose late evening flight/train, you explore some places in Agartala. Depending on your return flight timings, we will drop you to Agartala Airport. It is time to bid good bye to a short tour to Tripura.
